About the Role
Ark Media is looking for a co-host for a supporting role in our upcoming Jewish history show. We’re looking for someone with a curious and inquisitive mind and a passion for storytelling. The show will be hosted by a history expert and will explore a vast array of events, periods and personalities from the diverse mosaic of Jewish history. A strong interest in history is a major plus. This person will be central to the show’s growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Record weekly episodes, delivering authentic and engaging on-air performance.
- Review episode structures and research materials prepared by the main host and producer
- Bring curiosity, perspective, and voice to each story – going beyond the provided materials to add depth and context, and help push each episode’s story forward.
- Participate in planning conversations with the main host and producer to shape the show’s editorial direction over time.
Required Skills & Experience
- Comfortable, authentic on-air presence
- Ability to think beyond surface-level and ideological narratives about Jewish history
- A passion for human stories and an innate and enthusiastic curiosity when approaching new topics
- Comfortable working together with the lead host, who will steer each episode
- Ability to conduct research and get quickly familiar with new subjects
- Startup mentality: able to thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and help build something new.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in one or more of the following: podcasting, YouTube, social media, radio, or live streaming.
- Familiarily with nuanced storytelling that goes beyond the mainstream narratives.
- A strong personal passion for history and/or Jewish identity.
